The San Esteban Aloha Mission
(SEAM - 2004)
December 21-23, 2004 San Esteban, Ilocos Sur
The SEAM team 3rd successful mission to the Philippines last December 2004 headed by Dr. Ben R. Galindo of Aiea, Hawaii, treated approximately 2,500 sick indigent residents of San Esteban, Ilocos Sur and its neighboring towns. Some of the various medical ailments seen included diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, asthma, skin diseases, thyroid disorders, heart, respiratory, GI problems, etc. Aside from medical portion of the mission, the team also gave away a significant amount of cash ($8,655.00) grand prizes of $ 100; $ 50 and semi-grand prizes of $ 25.00, clothes, chocolate candies, pens, etc, as Christmas presents to the needy residents. They also left several thousands dollars worth of medications to the town’s health center.
