The caravan of the world’s Biggest Shoe arrived in our town last November 10, 2003. The big foot, made of pure leather, was loaded in a ten-wheeler truck. The Guinness Book of Records has officially declared the shoe as the biggest so far. This was made in Marikina City.
The caravan was met by our municipal mayor, vice mayor, SBMs and other municipal employees at the front of our town hall. Also present in the gathering were balikbayans Atty. Samuel Orpilla and Marilou Quemado. There was a chance that Mayor Armando V. Abad conversed with Metro Manila Development (MMDA) chairman Bayani Fernando through a cell phone. The MMDA chairman invited our municipal officials to visit the city of Marikina.
